Marrying someone from a different country Essay
Is marrying someone from a different country more problematic than marrying someone from your own country? In todayââ¬Ës fast-moving world, travelling and connecting with people all around the globe is becoming more and more comon. Because of the increasing globalisation, it often leads to international marriages. It is a new age concept and an endless discussion. However, I believe marrying a foreigner to be a norm rather than an anomaly. The main positive aspect of international marriage is learning so much about different cultures. It is a great way to broaden your horizons and to learn a foreign language because practicing it with your spouse is an inevitable routine. In other words, international marriage is a symbol of cultural integration and gives a great opportunity to have an open mind. Furthermore, children from international marriages are likely to become bilingual. Although raising a bilingual child requires hard work, it is generously rewarded. Children with the ability to handle multiple languages profit in many aspects of life. Finally, international couples are obliged to travel more. With relatives in different countries, holidays are often spent abroad. In line with cultural challenges, travelling expands oneââ¬Ës way of thinking and opens up new perspectives on life. Every marriage requires commitment, dedication and work. International marriages need even more attention because of the additional issues. In some cases, cultural shock may be a serious issue for the new family. However, the key to a successful intercultural marriage is to develop understanding and patience. Discussing the expectations in every area brings a positive vibe to a relationship and helps to build a strong international family.

ICC essays
ICC essays How would you characterize the contemporary international political system? Today no matter where you live, you are threatened by global environmental changes, spread of infectious disease, opportunities and dislocations associated with the globalization of the economy and human security. We are affected by global events no matter were we live. Ex: September 11, was a threat to our safety as humans and we are still feeling the repercussions now everywhere in the world. This has developed into a complex situation. As time passes, topics in politics that are coming more into the light are those of environment, human rights, and poverty. The current course of politics has been toward expansion and financial crisis like the Asian stock market and the recent American stock market crisis. It seem that the stability of the world economy is in shambles. People are still freaked out over September 11 attacks. I think that event will hinder our productivity and security issues for many more years to come. The line between rich and poor is ever increasing and will continue because of the extremities of power in both classes. I think that as the gap widens between both rich and poor, the middle class will cease to exist as we know it. I think that population control is another topic that needs to be seriously addressed. There are too many people in the world and not enough food to feed them all. I think that the political system is following a both convergent and divergent path right now. There are both present in our system and evident in certain aspects in our society. Both are happening simultaneously and both factors are felt differently for different societies across the world. There is a convergence of economic, technological and communication aspects. As well as there is an increasing independence between states, growth of IGO and NGO and awareness and action of environmental issues. Also there is a convergence o ...

Finding the Truth in the Impossible essays
Finding the Truth in the Impossible essays From an early age, we have been taught that honesty is one of the most important things in our lives. "Tell the truth" is one of the phases we hear over and over again when we are little. But, is truth really so important? Is knowing the truth or telling the truth really one of the most important things in our world? Knowing the truth has always been a driving force in our lives. People have always asked for the truth. From the beginning of human history people have always asked question of truth. Questions like, How was the earth created?...is the world flat?...and is there an afterlife? Many different successful people and civilizations lived happily believing different truths to these questions and others. Clearly not all of these answers could possible be correct, but people were able to be successful and happy while constantly being fed false truths. So, my question is this, does the truth really matter, is knowing the truth really so important? I will examine different scenarios to try and determine an answer to this question. First, is an example that would affect a lot of people's lives. Say there was a man who planted a bomb in a city. If the bomb went off hundreds of people would lose their lives. Police catch the man and try to find out where he placed the bomb. If the man tells the truth the police will me able to defuse the bomb and everyone will be saved. If the man lies the bomb will explode and many people will be hurt as a result. This brings me to my first conclusion; if a lie can hurt other people then the truth and honesty are extremely important. I do not believe that there could be any way to look at this situation and think that lying would be the right thing Next, I look into the story of Oedipus. For his entire life he had been told a lie; he had been told the Polybus and Morpe were his parents. This lie greatly affects Oedipus's life. If he had known the ...

Else Statements
The JavaScript Ternary Operator as a Shortcut for If/Else Statements The conditional ternary operator in JavaScript assigns a value to a variable based on some condition and is the only JavaScript operator that takes three operands. The ternary operator is a substitute for an if statementà in which both the if and else clauses assign different values to the same field, like so: if (condition)result something;elseresult somethingelse; The ternary operator shortens this if/else statement into a single statement: result (condition) ? something : somethingelse; If condition is true, the ternary operator returns the value of the first expression; otherwise, it returns the value of the second expression. Lets consider its parts:à First, create the variable to which you want to assign a value, in this case, result. The variable result will have a different value depending on the condition.Note that on the right-hand side (i.e. the operator itself), the condition is first. The condition is always followed by a question mark (?), which can basically be read as was that true? The two possible results come last, separated by a colon (:). This use of the ternary operator is available only when the original if statement follows the format shown aboveà - butà this is quite a common scenario, and using the ternary operator can be far more efficient. Ternary Operator Example Lets look at a real example. Perhaps you need to determine which children are the right age to attend kindergarten. You might have a conditional statement like this: var age 7;var kindergarten_eligible;à if (ageà 5) {kindergarten_eligible Old enough;}else {kindergarten_eligible Too young;} Using the ternary operator, you could shorten the expressionà to: varà kindergarten_eligible (age 5) ?à Too youngà :à Old enough; This example would, of course, return Old enough. Multiple Evaluations You can include multiple evaluations, as well: var age 7, var socially_ready true;var kindergarten_eligible (age 5) ? Too youngà : socially_readyOld enough but not yet ready Old and socially mature enoughconsole.log ( kindergarten_eligible ); // logs Old and socially mature enoughà Multiple Operations The ternary operator also allows the inclusion of multiple operations for each expression, separated by a comma: var ageà 7, socially_ready true; age 5à ? (alert(You are old enough.),location.assign(continue.html)) : (socially_ready false, alert(Sorry, but you are not yet ready.)); Ternary Operator Implications Ternary operators avoid otherwise verbose code, so on the one hand, they appearà desirable. On the other hand, they can compromise readabilityà - obviously, IF ELSE is more easily understood than a cryptic ?. When using a ternary operatorà - à à or any abbreviationà à - à consider who will be reading your code. If less-experienced developers may need to understand your program logic, perhaps the use of the ternary operator should be avoided. This is especially true if your condition and evaluations are complex enough that you would need to nest or chain your ternary operator. In fact, these kinds of nested operators can impact not only readability but debugging. As with any programming decision, be sure to consider context and usability before using a ternary operator.

Procurement and contract management Coursework Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Procurement and contract management - Coursework Example The present paper looks into the supplier relationship of BCAM which is being managed by Irwin family dealing in agricultural components. The paper will further study the outsourcing options available to the company, suggest a methodology and outline certain difficulties that the company may experience in global outsourcing. a) BCAM ââ¬â Supplier Relation and Its Consequences Supplier development is a process where on partner in a relationship modifies or otherwise influences the behavior of the other partner with a view to mutual benefit (Crocker, 2009). British Consolidated Agricultural Machinery (BCAM) was established by Harry Irwinââ¬â¢s father hundred years ago during the period of mass industrialization manufacturing tractors and other agricultural machinery such as harvesters, balers, movers, seed drills, and sprayers. While reviewing the purchasing procedure at BCAM, it is revealed that orders are placed in bulk even though if the materials are not required for the pur pose of production so as to avoid logistical time and costs. BCAM supplier development strategy was weak considering the fact they placed their orders with the suppliers who were associated with the company for many years. According to Crocker (2009) supplier development is necessary to develop the supply base in areas of recognized weakness, develop a long term relationship with few reliable suppliers, reduce the risk by sharing information, enhance the benefits of mutual goals and synchronize the overall process of supply chain process. This shows that the companyââ¬â¢s transactions were limited to few suppliers and the relationship between both is adversarial as BCAM doesnââ¬â¢t pay them as agreed during the contract. Saunders et al (Swamidass 2000) mentioned that adversarial relationship is promoted when they operate at armââ¬â¢s length with communication without personal contact and gains by one partner are seen as being at the expense of other contributing to apparent lack of trust and not ready to share information. According to Handfield and Bechtel (2002, reliance on trust at the interpersonal level may be conditioned by legal systems or organizational role responsibilities, mitigating the ability of parties to rely on trust as a matter of first preference. The relationship between BCAM and its suppliers exceeds their contract and operates beyond it resulting in breakage of supply chain management. The company had to face the consequences of such relationship as their orders placed by BCAM would not be taken as top priority leading to purchase departments failure to provide required material for production resulting in delayed customer delivery. The fact that both maintained cordial relationships and confidence on the suppliers side that they would definitely receive their payment made it possible to continue the transaction. Moreover, in such type of relationships, complaints are not addressed due to the negligence from buyersââ¬â¢ side a s evidence in BCAM Company wherein complaints by purchasing department were snubbed by suppliers owing to late payments. b) Buyer Supplier Relationship Approach Organizations are more actively involving suppliers in their integrated development process and identify suppliers as a source of competitive advantage which means that there is an opportunity to develop and identify the factors that could help sustain or improve the relationship between the buyer and the supplier (Nellore, 2001). Developing partnerships with suppliers is

Qualative Analysis Lab Report Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Qualative Analysis - Lab Report Example At the end of the practical it was possible to establish the cations present in our unknown sample #19. Qualitative analysis is a method in analytical chemistry which involves the identifying of unknowns in a given solution. It is important in chemistry especially when one is dealing with unknown mixtures to be able to establish the solution properties and the methods of separation if you need to separate. In the general Laboratory set up, qualitative analysis is aimed at getting a deeper understanding of the cations and also learns how to handle them and detect them effectively when in any solution. The main hypothetical question in qualitative analysis is whether a certain cation is present in a given solution. To prove that hypothesis null, then a series of chemical reactions are conducted and the color changes are mainly used to establish their presence. It should be noted that many cations will have similar color changes and so a series of subsequent reactions are used in the detection of a certain cation (Page & Foster 11). In this lab we divided the cations to be characterized into two sub groups, this was done by selective precipitation. The precipitate was then separated physically be centrifuging as it settles out and the supernatant liquid decanted. This was the first step where the large group was separated into smaller groups so that a definitive test can be performed to verify the presence or absence of a specific cation. The cations were classified into two groups according to their ability to dissolve. Group A had ( Bi+3, Fe+3 and Mn+2) while group B had (Al+3, Cr+3 and Sn+4) which were to be used in the two labs. The ions were in a combined unknown solution and they were to be analyzed to establish the cations present. To be sure where any of the cations was present in the solution it was important to run a number of procedures that are described below. In test 1, Mn+2 ions were confirmed present. In the addition of NaBiO3 the color of
Nutrition Questions Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Nutrition Questions - Essay Example ure of the nutrient breakdown often results in a lack of energy, excessive sleepiness, or similar problems that would otherwise act to counter weight loss gains. As a result of these limitations oneââ¬â¢s overall perception of fad diets and drugs is highly suspicious. Adolescence has been defined as a developmental stage distinguishing childhood from adulthood. While the age of 18 is the legal definition of adulthood, the actual developmental transition is determined by psychological and physiological factors. One of the predominant developmental stages associated with adolescence is puberty. As adolescence is a pivotal developmental stage there are a number of nutrition-related problems associated with it. One of the most prominent nutrition-related problems of adolescence is that of malnutrition, particularly its effect on weight gain. While the high numbers of adolescents that are overweight is in great part due to a lack of exercise, a nearly equal problem is overeating, or eating the wrong foods. Another issue is that of under nutrition. Particularly in the cases of anorexia, adolescents are particularly apt to these as they face the challenges of the teenage years. As this is a critical growth period proper nutrition is important as it has been shown to affect health in later life. Specific health problems from poor adolescent nutrition include osteoporosis, heart disease, and diabetes. Other potential problems related to nutrition include stomach and kidney pains brought on by bulimia that, like anorexia, is another frequent disorder related to the adolescent development stage. In addition to these noted nutrition-related problems adolescents in this development stage are susceptible to many of the same nutrition related problems of regular adults; over consumption of daily vitamins can cause a series of health related problems. Ultimately, because of these issues itââ¬â¢s highly important for adolescents to pay particular attention to their nutrition and
